Manaslu Circuit Trek with Serang Gompa

16 Days

Region: Manaslu Conservation Area
Start/End: Kathmandu
Duration: 16 Days
Grade: Moderate to Challenging

Overview

The Manaslu Circuit Trek with Serang Gompa Stay is a remote and culturally immersive Himalayan journey that circles Mount Manaslu (8,163 m), the eighth-highest peak in the world. The route lies within the protected Manaslu Conservation Area, offering a rare combination of dramatic mountain landscapes, deep river valleys, and strong Tibetan-influenced culture.

The trek begins from Kathmandu and gradually ascends through lush forests, traditional villages, and high alpine terrain. Unlike more commercial trekking routes, Manaslu remains relatively untouched, providing an authentic and less crowded Himalayan experience.

A unique highlight of this itinerary is the extended stay at Serang Gompa, a peaceful Buddhist monastery located in a secluded mountain valley. Here, trekkers experience monastic life, meditation environments, and panoramic Himalayan views, adding a strong spiritual and cultural dimension to the journey.

The route continues through Samagaun and Samdo before reaching the challenging Larkya La Pass (5,160 m), one of the most scenic high passes in Nepal. From the top, trekkers are rewarded with breathtaking views of snow-covered peaks and glacial landscapes.

The descent passes through Bimthang and lower valleys before exiting the Manaslu region, completing a full circuit that combines adventure, culture, and wilderness in one of Nepal’s most spectacular trekking regions.
